For our Youth Combined Christmas Activity we did a couple of things.
First thing we did was make some Food boxes that we gave to our Bishop so he could give them to someone who needed a Christmas dinner this year. We had stuffing, potatoes, fruit, cranberry sauce, gravy, candy canes and a $25 gift card so they could buy a meat and a dessert.
The boys had a box and the girls had a box. They each wrapped it up and placed the items inside.
Our wonderful Youth.
We then played a game. I made two balls of candy wrapped in plastic wrap. How to make the balls is at the bottom of this page. They had to take turns rolling dice and if they rolled doubles it was their turn with the ball. They then passed the bowl with the dice and they got the ball. They had to unwrap the ball and untape each piece of candy that they came across. They actually had a lot of fun with this game.
We than had our annual white elephant gift exchange. The limit was $3. It is always fun to see what $3 can buy. Bailey got some mustaches which she loved.
How to make the Candy Ball
I started out by balling up a piece of newspaper and covering it in plastic wrap and taping together.
I than added a piece of candy, taped it on than rolled it and did it again and again. I even stopped and ended it a few times and started again. Candy, tape, roll in plastic wrap.
I did 2 balls so it could go from each direction. To make the two balls it took me probably a half an hour. They got pretty heavy after a while. But everyone got at least 5 pieces of candy and they all had fun.
