Bus Fire

What an exciting afternoon Bailey and I had the other day. I had decided to go to on a field trip with Bailey. Normally they don't let the parents ride the bus with the kids, but for some reason they let me and a couple of other parents ride along. On the way to the first place we were going everything was fine. We did our tour and ate lunch. We all loaded back on the bus and were headed to an animal shelter for the last part of the field trip. Well that is where the "fun" started. The bus was acting sluggish and letting off some smoke. The bus driver stopped the first time and smoke just poured out the back of the bus. He kept going. He stopped again and even more smoke. Bus is still going very slow. He wants to get to the animal shelter which is about 15 miles from where were were. We get to a stop sign and by this time smoke is very thick an black. Kids are getting scared and I was as well. We make a turn and not even 100 feet from the turn there is a loud bang and he finally pulls over to stop. Smoke is everywhere. He won't let us off the bus until he puts it in park. We then finally get off the bus and we get the kids to a safe distance and the bus bangs again. There are several loud bangs. At one time a tire flies through the air fully engulfed in flames to the yard across the street. Fire departments come and the EMS. They check on the kids and us and make sure we are all ok. We get another bus and get the kids back to school. It was very scary and so glad that we made it out ok and everyone was safe. Another thing about this bus is that Kaisey was just on this bus on Saturday going to the Azalea Festival. Kinda scary.
About a minute after we got off the bus.
You can already see fire on the ground.

if you look behind the man you can see the
tire on fire.

Fully engulfed.

After they got the bus was put out.
